The International Health & Medical Media Awards is open to health and medical videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs, CDs or Web sites that address health or medical issues for consumers or health care professionals. We are pleased to announce that 2009 marks the second year that the FREDDIE Awards will be produced and managed under a nonprofit, charitable organization. Important Message from the MediMedia Foundation Board of Directors regarding the 2009 FREDDIE Awards:

The Board of Directors for the MediMedia Foundation announces that the 2009 FREDDIE Awards competition will proceed as usual with entries accepted between February 2 and May 15, 2009. It is important to note that, due to the difficult economic climate, there will be NO AWARDS CEREMONY on November 13, 2009 in Philadelphia, PA as originally noted on the Call for Entries, the 2009 Reel News and on the FREDDIE Awards Website.

The 2009 competition will move forward as scheduled and all FREDDIE winners will receive their bronze FREDDIE by mail. Winners will receive both Web and print exposure in the 2010 Reel News publication as well as on the official FREDDIES website. Winners will receive information about submitting photos or video of themselves with their FREDDIE Award for inclusion in our publications. The Board of Directors regrets that this action was necessary, and looks forward to resuming the annual awards ceremony again in 2010. Thank you.
